Have always wanted to try this small place (not sure how big inside or 'normal' before COVID but 4 tables in side and 2 bistro tables in front), so glad I finally got there for lunch. Loved the food and service was excellent. Menu has some typical items but also items not standard. Nice touch of a bruschetta like toast with black bean spread with tomato that was provided as a small bite instead of the typical salsa and chips...

My family and I have been here pre-COVID and post-COVID and nothing has changed - not only is the service still unexceptional, the food continues to EXCEED ALL EXPECTATIONS! Authentic, beautiful flavors are incorporated into all the dishes (we love the flautas), and every drink is made with care and love. You must come and try!

Absolutely delicious, gourmet Mexican dishes! Fresh ingredients, unique takes on everyday Mexican dishes. We ordered their guacamole with queso fundido and it was yummy and filling. My boys ate it all up in a matter of minutes. I had their delicious, rich Birria quesadillas with a side of consomé and I was so pleasantly surprise in how nicely they trimmed the fat off, 100% meat none of the fat that some other places load you up on...

Tavo's is an excellent inventive restaurant in Milwaukee- a stone's throw from the Wauwatosa border. I had read a nice interview with the chef in the Journal Sentinel, and was excited to visit with my son on his birthday. It's a tiny place, 3 seats at the bar, 6 tables, make a reservation on weekends, or they need your business on a weekday night! We were the only diners on a Wednesday...
